Wells Cathedral is set in the medieval heart of England’s smallest city. It is stunning Cathedral located in a beautiful town and an ideal place to visit for a family day out. The Cathedral is free to visit but donations are very welcome to aid with the upkeep of this historic building. The Cathedral adjoins Vicars’ Close which is thought to be Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited street.
On most days of the year regular scheduled tours are available with a Wells Cathedral guide. These tours are free of charge and last approximately 1 hour. You can visit the Cathedral cafe for to enjoy a relaxing lunch whilt appreciating the magnificent views over the West Front of Wells Cathedral and over the moat of Bishop’s Palace which you can also visit whilst visiting as it is quite literally on the doorstep of the Cathedral.
