I’m not sure there is much that makes me happier than having confidence in the weather report, making plans based on the weather report and said report not letting me down.

A couple of weekends ago, when it was baking hot on both the Sunday and the Bank Holiday Monday we tentatively put onto the calendar not one, but two BBQ’s. Two afternoons of sunshine, good food, drinks bursting with fizz and fruit and my favourite people.

I’ve recently partnered with HomeArama to photograph some of their beautiful homeware accessories… first up is a small selection from their wide ranging al fresco dining designs.

This super sunny weekend was the ideal opportunity for me to excitedly unbox, unwrap and put to good use these lovely items. Gorgeous accessories such as these certainly make the getting ready part of the day easy and lots of fun – I picked some beautiful designs that I knew would be used again and again.

First up is the outdoor dining range from Pappelina. This Swedish brand has an ever increasing product range  (HomeArama are the exclusive UK agents with the largest online range available), and the essence of Pappelina and their designs has remained the same since their brand began… simple, stylish and functional.

Featured in this post are their outdoor cushions in blush, the Pappelina Blanket Fia Piglet Blush, the Pappelina blanket honey sand, the tea towel Rex in Pale Rose, the tea towel Rex in warm grey and the Rose & Ballet table runner.

The quality of each item is second to none, and what these photos don’t show is the beautiful detailing on each and every piece.

When the sun went down, and the blankets came into their own, those who wrapped themselves up commented on their softness. These blankets are luxurious and far too nice to pack away so now have permanent placements draped over our sofas.

The Pappelina cushions had the same effect on me –  they are so lovely I didn’t want to store them hidden in a cupboard so they are now adorning the chairs around our kitchen table. They are high quality UV-resistant fabric treated with a formula to repel dirt and liquid. Just in case there is an accident that requires some attention the covers and removable and washable. Perfect for when you don’t move quick enough to block the toddler chocolate fingers.

The tea towels are made of extremely durable jacquard woven towel. When Penny’s water spilt, the mess was absorbed within a matter of seconds. Everything about the Pappelina range is designed to last, and meant to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

Some of my other favourite bits, from different designers stocked by Homearama include the Design Ideas Mason Glass Vases. Flowers make everything look beautiful, and filling each of these tiny vases with little arrangements and dotting them around the dining area is an example of me faffing whilst at my happiest.

I am the biggest advocate of easy entertaining. One of my favourite entertaining options is an abundance of colourful antipasti presented on wooden serving boards, so as soon as I saw this beautiful long narrow serving board from Bahne I knew I would use it again and again. We were BBq’ing so no antipasti needed this time, but the delicatessen section in Sainsbury’s had plenty of tempting dessert options to present on this lovely board. These desserts were priced at not much over a pound each and whilst they are obviously a cheat… they’re a bloomin’ pretty one and nobody complained on the day 🙂

The Bahne cutlery holder allowed for an informal setting and the Bahne candle holders were perfect decorative accessories for the centre of the table.

If you are yet to discover HomeArama head on over to their website. The independent lifestyle brands represented by this team are original, beautiful and all of their collections have been carefully selected so that customers purchase knowing they have bought something that little bit different,  and no doubt something that they will be able to treasure for years to come.

P.S. I believe our next collaboration is going to have a cocktail theme, so it will involve some delicious cocktail recipes which I’m very excited to share 🙂
