Easter is one of my absolutely favourite times of year. The two bank holidays make it feel special… the extra time means you can squeeze in much more fun! I was especially excited this year as we had our lovely best friends coming to stay for the weekend with their beautiful little ones for a perfect mix of yummy food, fizz, Easter games, tea party fun, and some quality time with the Mad Hatter and some beloved princesses!
The fantastic Feather Grey Parties based just 20 minutes away from me very kindly supplied us with a selection of their adorable bumble bee party ware, which was perfect for an Easter party! It all went down exceptionally well with the 6 adults and 4 children alike! I can thoroughly recommend Feather Grey for the quality and loveliness of their items, and I had so much fun styling the little tea party with their beautiful range.
Particular favourites were the milkshakes with cookies in the cool retro bottles, the jelly and custard in the little pots that are a perfect size for a sweet treat, and the vegetables with hummus… vegetables have never looked so appealing as when presented in beautiful little containers from the bumble bee range in a cute little egg basket! The mini pails were fab as well…I used them as individual sweetie tins, that the kiddies enjoyed carrying around with them whilst playing in the garden. I’m already looking forward to filling these little pails with treats when we go for picnics!
Feather Grey think of all the little details… the cake toppers, confetti balloons, gorgeous pom pom decorations (that are now adorning Bella’s bedroom ceiling) all helped to transform our kitchen and garden for the day. The sun was out just long enough for some egg hunting fun, and then we all went back inside for some cookie decorating and crafting before we put the kiddies to bed for a treat of watching a DVD with a chocolate egg.
When they finally settled we then devoured the leftover party food and a sizable curry, drank far too many bubbles, and forced ourselves to go to bed at a semi sensible time before our afternoon with the Mad Hatter and Princesses at Maunsel House the next day!
When we arrived with somewhat delicate heads at 10.00am it was quite surreal to see dozens of littles Princesses and the cutest little mad hatters and buzz light-years running about. The anticipation of finding yet more chocolate and singing with Elsa was not helping to calm their spirits but after a bit of mayhem at the beginning we all got into the swing of things and began to relax watching the little ones have oodles of fun dressing up, running around, playing games, singing songs, hunting for yet more eggs, meeting their favourite characters and sitting down for another lovely little afternoon tea. For the kiddies it was the perfect Easter double party… for the grown-ups we could watch them enjoy themselves guilt free whilst sitting in the glorious sunshine, sunglasses on, nursing our delicate heads!
The weekend was beautiful, and the perfect mix of all their favourite things. Thank you very much to my fantastic friends who love me despite the fact I carry a ridiculously large camera with me wherever we go, and, of course to the fantastic Somerset based party ware business Feather Grey for setting off our Easter party so beautifully.
