The Windmill Inn, West Quantoxhead
The Windmill lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills, in the village of West Quantoxhead, approximately halfway between Bridgwater and Minehead in West Somerset.
It has a large car park, beer garden and a great children’s play area, and overlooks the beautiful St. Audries Church and Bay. They offer a Sunday carvery and a children’s menu.
For the hungry, thirsty or tired traveler, it is an ideal location - it also offers en-suite accommodation
The Notley Arms Inn, Exmoor 01984656095
The Nottley Arms is a traditional country inn with open fires, beautiful outside areas and it is bounded by a bubbling stream. It lies in the beautiful village of Monksilver, 3 miles west of Williton in Somerset, on the edge of the Brendon Hills and the Exmoor National Park.
Freshly made local produce is prepared daily, there is a varied children’s menu and it has one of Somerset's finest beer gardens.
An ideal spot to meet/stay for walkers, nature lovers, sight-seers and beer drinkers :)
The Blue Ball Inn, Triscombe

Situated in Triscombe, at the foot of the Quantock Hills, the Blue Ball Inn is known as one of the finest pub restaurants in the county.
The restaurant is award-winning, and uses fresh, local produce. There is a lovely tiered garden, and the location has to be seen to be appreciated. Keep a look out for the hog roasts they host over the summer :)

Located in the centre of Minehead, Somerset, the Hairy Dog is a family friendly option. They have a great adventure playground that your little ones will love, plenty of outside tables, and they offer a Sunday carvery as well as a varied children’s menu.
The Farmers Arms, Combe Florey, nr Taunton

This lovely family pub offers picturesque gardens, in winter or summer. They offer a children’s menu and a bar that is open all day, every day, with the restaurant open for lunches and dinners.
Excellent ales and superb local food are served, with brilliant hospitality, at a reasonable cost.
The Merry Monk, Monkton Heathfield, nr Taunton
The Merry Monk is a public house with a large restaurant, situated at the heart of the Monkton Heathfield village on the outskirts of Taunton. The pub offers a wide variety of hot food and bar snacks throughout the day, as well as a famous carvery.
Their food is freshly prepared with local produce, and there is a great award winning garden with play area to keep your little ones amused.
The Anchor Inn, Hillfarrance, nr Taunton

The team at the Anchor Inn have got family friendly sussed. They offer a fantastic play area with a large beer garden, and there is a great children’s menu, with prices set at just £2.95.
They are just 10 minutes from the motorway and Taunton town centre, yet the pub itself is in the heart of the Somerset countryside, surrounded by open fields and farmland.

This is a lovely traditional pub, recently refurbished, offering a warm friendly welcome. They have a comfortable covered decking area, large garden, family room and children's play area, as well as a children’s menu.
This is a great pub at which to sit back with something cold whilst watching your little ones have fun.

Situated in the village of Thurloxton near Taunton, the Maypole understands family friendly. Boasting a large beer garden and great play area, this welcoming pub is a county highlight.
They pride themselves in serving traditional pub food, and, wherever possible, use locally produced Somerset meat and seasonal vegetables. They serve good quality food, and care a great deal about service and customer satisfaction. They make as much as possible in their kitchen, from their daily bread to their delicious puddings.

Located in Durleigh, on the western edge of the market town of Bridgwater in Somerset, only minutes from the Quantock Hills, this establishment combines the best traditions of the old English inn with the latest in modern luxury.
Their beer garden has plenty of seating, together with a play area for children and barbecue area for those balmy summer evenings. It also provides stunning views of rolling open countryside that are unmatched by any other pub in the area.

This family friendly pub offers something a little different to entertain your little ones… their very own maze, located on the field next to the beer garden! A great way to keep your little ones occupied before you settle down with a drink in the sunshine.
This establishment offers a fine selection of food, a wide choice of ales, and is within easy reach of the M5.
The Devonshire Arms, Langport
The Devonshire Arms, a Grade II former hunting lodge, is set in the picturesque village green of Long Sutton in the heart of the Somerset Levels, just off the A303, close to Somerton.
At the back of the property there is a beautiful courtyard garden surrounded by wisteria, acers and lavender. You can dine al fresco under the shade of the umbrellas next to the raised herb beds, or share a jug of Pimms under the pergola in the walled terrace garden.
With croquet, boules and garden Jenga on the large terraced lawns, there is plenty to keep the kids (and adults!) entertained. They also have a children’s menu.

The Talbot Inn is a traditional yet stylish coaching inn, located in the heart of the historic village of Mells, 5 minutes from Frome, and in the middle of some of Somerset’s most stunning countryside. You can while away a long summer’s day in the pretty garden, which also has a Petanque piste. The cobbled courtyard has chairs and tables under parasols and, weather permitting, a fire-pit.

The George at Nunney is a 17th century coaching Inn situated in the village of Nunney in Somerset. The Inn has an excellent reputation for its cosy rooms, delicious food and a friendly service.
Their bar, lounge and restaurant areas have all been recently refurbished and their beautiful night lit garden provides drinking or dining ‘alfresco’ at any time of the day (weather permitting!). They also offer a great children’s menu.

This wonderful pub is five minutes from Glastonbury and 10 minutes from Wells. They offer brilliantly modern European food and a constantly changing roster of beers and ales.
You can spend summer evenings on their gorgeous terrace lounging by the river looking out on the beautiful Somerset Levels, surrounded by dairy farms and national wildlife reserves. Lovely!

The menus are changed regularly, using locally sourced products, and for the young ones (and parents !) there is an Ice Cream Shed !
The Castle of Comfort, East Harptree

Serving home cooked food (also with a menu for the children), with real ales and fine wines, the Castle of Comfort can indeed provide the comfort you look for in a traditional country pub.
The New Inn, Cross

Close to Cheddar Gorge, and a great stopping off point before or after flying from Bristol Airport, the New Inn has a large beer garden, with terrific views over the Mendips.
Featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for 5 years running, and with a desire to provide real food and quality ales, the New Inn is a must visit if you’re in the area.
The Hunter’s Lodge, Wincanton
The Hunter’s Lodge has something for everyone - food is served all day long, there is a terrific carvery, and it has a safe and secure play area for your little ones.
There is a 50 seater veranda, BBQ’s are held in the summer - and there’s an Ice Cream Parlour !!
Ideally situated for trips to Stonehenge, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge and many other places of interest, The Hunter’s Lodge is a must visit.
The Bull Inn, Hardway, Bruton

This traditional English pub, part of the history of Somerset since 1650, has one of the best beer gardens in the West Country.
The food is prepared using fresh, local ingredients, and is a lovely place to enjoy dinner, and to celebrate those special occasions. The Bull sits under King Alfred’s Tower, close to Stourhead and Longleat, and can claim to be one of Somerset’s favourite pubs.
